Ok right then, well after thinking for a little bit just now, what I’ve decided to talk about is the time I waited for a boat at the West Lake in Hangzhou. And as for when this happened, well I suppose it must have been about two or three months ago by now, and it was on a weekend, so we kind of knew that there would be a long queue for the boats!

So yeah, when we got there, we were told that there would be a wait of about an hour or so, at least, which was what we pretty much expected. But we didn’t feel like twiddling our thumbs and hanging around for an hour doing nothing, so instead, what we actually decided to do was to get a ticket number first and then go for a walk around the lake, have lunch and then come back again in the afternoo n. Do it that way!

And I’m glad to say that, when we went back later and showed the guy our ticket, he told us we could get on the next boat. So we felt pretty good about it, and it was quite a relief as well, cos I mean, he could have told us that we missed our turn and would have to get another ticket number, you know, like they do in the bank. But thankfully, he took pity on us, especially after I’d said that we had waited for about 4 hours! So yeah, it all worked out pretty well for us, cos we almost immediately got onto a boat. I’m not sure the other people waiting were very impressed, cos it kind of looked like we were queue barging, but anyway, that’s basically what happened!

The unusual meal I am going to tell you is what I ate with my best friend before graduation. He and I shared the same room and our beds were set together. During the college, we play basketball together, study together and even help each other find our true loves. Oh, a lot of happy memory.

The meal was in the evening before graduation. Next day, we would pursue our own courses. He would go to Xia’men, a southern city in China, to teach in a university, while I would stay here and start my work. We were parted thousands of miles, so that meal was very likely to be our last meal in several years, and it is.

没有选择外面的饭店，我们买了些食物，啤酒回到生活四年的宿舍。一边吃饭，一边喝酒，一边聊天。那天我们聊了很多，关于曾经的理想，未来的设想，自己的生活。直到凌晨四点多天开始亮的时候才结束。随后收拾行李，他登上前往厦门的旅程，我前往自己租住的小屋。

Instead of eating in a restaurant, we bought some food and beer and came back to the dormitory where we lived for four years. We ate, drank and talked. We talked about our ambitions, expectations, lives, and paths ahead until about 4 o’clock in the morning. Then we packed our baggage. He embarked on his way to Xia’men. I took a bus to my small rented room.

其实那天的食物并不怎么好吃，但我永远记着这顿饭，并且时不时回想起来。因为它代表了我的大学生涯和诸多美好的回忆。

1. Do you often look in the mirror?

思路：可以回答经常照镜子，比如臭美一下，或者检查有没有眼屎，不然就丑大了;当然喜欢化浓妆的人，可能得经常照镜子，尤其是大热天和暴雨天，眼线很容易花的。如果有同学说不怎么照镜子，也是可以嗒，比如只有要挤脸上痘痘时才会想到去找别人借一下镜子。

误区：即使平时不怎么照镜子，同学们也要试试进行一定的扩展，比如上一次照镜子或者无意中路过瞥了一眼是什么时候啦，都是可以的。

误区：我们听到题目可能会有些困惑，不知道考官指的是什么镜子。其实这里也没有必要去问考官他或她指的是家里那种大镜子还是小镜子，直接自己分成两种情况去讲就好啦。

雅思口语话题范例: Well, to be honest, I’ve got to say it’s a pretty difficult topic for me, cause you might not know this, but most of the time, it’s my mom who does all the planning for me, especially when it is study related. So if I’ve got to choose a plan of mine and tell you a little bit about it, perhaps I can just bring up the one I did for my trip to Sri Lanka.

In fact, way before last year, I bought Lonely Planet Sri Lanka when it was on sale, you know, it’s a guide book. They do all sorts of destinations. And then there was this one day, I realized that edition I had been having was going out of date soon, cause I saw the new version was coming out soon. So I thought it was time to plan a trip soon. You might not know this but normally I would love to go somewhere totally on my own. By accident one of my friends heard about my idea and she said she wanted to join me. So I booked our tickets and the hotel for the first night. We didn’t choose to go with a guided tour group, so we had to do a lot of research online before hand. Luckily I found a good website called tripadvisor which gave me all sorts of information I was desperate to know.

This Chinese New Year, we finally made it to Colombo, which is the capital. Even now, I’m feeling so lucky that I came up with the idea of travelling cause I really had a blast on that beautiful island. What I liked the best was the trip was quite spontaneous. I didn’t make any specific route before hand, so we were just following our heart the whole time. Apart from that, thank god, I checked the weather and that and successfully avoided the north which was pissing down at the time. Where we went, which is along the southwest coast, was sunny throughout the whole journey. Still though, there was something I didn’t arrange too perfectly. I didn’t pre book the hotels so when we got to each new city, we had to look for one ourselves, and the prices were relatively high as well. If I didn’t spend that much money, I would have probably stayed a bit longer. At the same time, my friend who went along seemed to enjoy herself just as much. Anyway, I think I might crack on a new plan for the next journey hopefully really soon.
